Paul F. Howard, MD, FACP, FACR

Dr. Paul Howard is a graduate Cum Laude from Georgetown University in Biology (1975) and Medicine (1979).  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona and fellowship in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Howard has been involved in private practice in Phoenix and Paradise Valley since 1984 and has participated as a clinical investigator in numerous clinical research trials developing new therapies for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Sjogren’s, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis.   He is currently president of Arthritis Health, Ltd, an integrated medical practice dedicated to the care of adults and children with arthritis, metabolic bone and autoimmune disorders.

As a teacher, he has helped train interns and residents in the Phoenix-area training programs in rheumatology and has developed nationally recognized courses concerning rheumatology care.

As an active volunteer with the Arthritis Foundation since arriving in Phoenix, he helped develop the local Juvenile Arthritis Support Group in the 1980′s, has been a board member of the Arthritis Foundation, Southwest Chapter since 1986.  He completed a three year term as Chairman of the Board in spring 2004 and is now serving on as the chairman of the Fundraising Subcommittee for the National Arthritis Foundation.

He is currently the Governor of the American College of Physicians,  Arizona Chapter.  He has repeatedly been voted ”Top Doc” in rheumatology by his medical peers (Phoenix Magazine) and in patient surveys.

Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire – The Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire is used to assess the degree of fibromyalgia type symptoms on your daily activities. This form can be used to establish your baseline symptoms as well as monitor symptom improvement over time.

Health Assessment Questionnaire – The Health Assessment Questionnaire is a questionnaire specifically designed for patients with rheumatoid arthritis or other auto-immune condition. It is used to self report the impact of disease on your daily activities. Use this form as a baseline assessment of your health or to monitor improvement from different treatments.
